Am I a good candidate for learning PDR?
This is a very good question! PDR will undoubtably be one of the hardest things you’ll ever try to learn. There is no background that can really prepare you for a career in PDR but there are key elements that are required, these are:
- Self-Discipline –
Self-discipline is often seen as a very strong word but it is incredibly important. Self-discipline with awareness of consequence is what is required, ask any successful PDR technician the first victory they won whilst training and self-discipline will be the answer.
- Motivation –
Your road to becoming a prosperous technician relies on motivation. Ask yourself could I finish a hard days work and then go on to spend a further couple of hours practising and honing my skills on a door or bonnet? Ultimately this is what it will take for you to reach your goal.
- Self-Command –
Setting yourself realistic personal goals such as time limits or together increasing the size and depth of dents which you will repair. We need to push ourselves but everything has to be achievable. Control what we are doing, the methods and tools which we may use. Prepare and analyse as often it is the simplest of things that can so easily be over looked.
The above points will all be addressed in every course. We will work with you in depth so you will fully understand what and why you are doing things the way you are. These points are not there to try and scare you but just to make sure you are being honest with yourself and that PDR is right for you. The free taster sessions are designed to help any new or existing technician decide what course or level they will best starting off at. We do not want anyone going over what they ultimately know unnecessarily but more importantly we do not want you to miss any theory or practice that will hold you off from fully understanding what it is we are trying to achieve.
If you feel you answer to all of the above and that you are ready for the next step then we are waiting to hear from you. We will be happy to talk with you at a convenient time to go over any questions you may have relating to any part of our industry or better still we look forward to welcoming you to our facility a coffee and a taste of what we have to offer.
